Cynthia Liu is a member of Dentons' Litigation and
Arbitration practice, focusing on insurance coverage disputes and
counseling. She advises clients on first-party and third-party
coverage issues arising in the personal and commercial lines
contexts. Cynthia also represents insurance companies in breach of
contract, bad faith, agent negligence, unfair competition and
declaratory relief actions.
Cynthia gained international legal experience as a summer
associate in Shanghai, China. She assisted Chinese lawyers in
reviewing business contracts, conducting legal due diligence and
translating into English transactional documents presented in
Mandarin. She also conducted legal research and analysis for
diverse issues related to Chinese enterprises venturing into the US
securities market and US companies expanding into the Chinese
market; assisted lawyers within the commercial litigation,
construction and real estate areas; and reviewed a variety of
business-related and finance-related documents.
Activities and Affiliations
Cynthia is a member of the California Bar. She is admitted to practice before the District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of California.
Prior and Present Employment
Cynthia was an extern with the United States District Court in San Diego and a law clerk in the criminal division of the United States Attorney's Office in San Francisco. Prior to law school, Cynthia worked as a property and casualty underwriter focusing on information technology companies.
