David Sheinfeld began his career as a practicing lawyer in 1980.
He then played a substantial role in the development and growth of
one of the largest fresh food distribution and manufacturing
companies in North America.
David previously served on the board of trustees at Greenhill School in Dallas and is president of FC Dallas, one of the largest youth soccer clubs in the United States. He has appeared on numerous panel discussions and has written a number of articles on subjects such as technology outsourcing and market trends.

Prior and Present Employment
David served on the board of directors of Fresh America Corporation in 1990 and became its chairman and chief executive officer in 1992. He oversaw its growth from a regional $2 million company with one distribution center to one of the largest publicly held fresh food distribution companies in North America with 26 distribution and production facilities and over $900 million in annualized sales servicing over 5,000 customers. David led the Initial Public Offering (IPO) and oversaw the growth of Fresh America by acquisition into new locations and businesses. He was the driving force in making Fresh America a supplier to some of the largest retail chains and foodservice companies in North America, and in the expansion of the company’s operations to become a major importer of fresh fruits and vegetables from many countries around the world. He was instrumental in implementing best practices in areas such as supply chain, logistics, distribution management and sales, and was involved in one of the first successful implementations of SAP in the food distribution sector.
Since leaving Fresh America in 2001, he has been advising companies in acquisition and growth strategies. He is the founder and CEO of MKJ Advisors LLC, a merchant bank and advisory firm concentrating on acquiring companies in the consumer and technology sectors.
He was also a strategic partner in Becton Schantz, Inc. (BSI), one of the largest application service providers in North America, providing administrative back office support to the consumer products industry through outsourced EDI, Order Entry and other ERP solutions. He is also the co-founder and managing partner of Horizon Business Advisors, LLC, a strategy, management and merchant banking firm providing consulting services and participating in business transactions across many sectors in the marketplace.
