In South Africa, consumers are protected by the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and its Regulations against unfair contract terms. Non-compliance with the requirements of the CPA and its Regulations relating to unfair, unreasonable or unjust contract terms could result in rendering the transaction or particular provision of a contract void.
