Rachel Ittner is a member of Dentons' Real Estate
She has diverse experience in the areas of corporate and
commercial real estate transactions, construction development,
commercial lending and construction loans, acquisition and
disposition of multi-property portfolios, commercial leasing,
affordable housing, low income housing tax credit and New Markets
Tax Credit transactions throughout the U.S.
Rachel advises property owners in various aspects of the
construction industry, including the negotiation and documentation
of construction management, build-out contracts, project
management, operating and service agreements.
Rachel assisted with the funding of an affordable housing project involving financing from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the city of Chicago, the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and the Illinois Housing Development Authority, and advised the developer in subsequent disposition of several of the completed housing units to the CHA.
In addition, Rachel was embedded by Dentons full time for a 3-month period to advise The Thresholds, a 501(c)(3) social service provider, on various business and legal issues, including contract negotiation and administration, employment issues, real-estate related issues and long-term strategic planning and development.

Community Involvement and Pro Bono
Rachel is also actively engaged in providing pro bono legal services.
Her pro bono work includes advising and representing Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation in connection with the acquisition of property and in the granting of a tax exemption for the property.
She led the establishment of Dentons as the pro-bono general counsel of the Foundation, for which the Foundation awarded their 2009 “William J. Casey Corporate Hope Award” to Dentons.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Rachel worked at Dentons as a paralegal in the Real Estate practice.
