In 2014 the ASA received (yet again) a record number of complaints. It attributed the record to an increase in:
- the use of social media as a platform for promoting business; and
- “copycat websites”, which replicate government websites in order to generate revenue from unsuspecting users.

Dentons hosted its inaugural Courageous Counsel Leadership Institute, a full-day professional development conference for senior women in-house counsel, to great success. Inspired by the book Courageous Counsel: Conversations with Women General Counsel in the Fortune 500, co-authored by San Francisco Insurance partner Kara Baysinger and Michele Mayes, general counsel for the New York Public Library, the Institute extended the book's message by promoting the advancement of women lawyers in senior legal and leadership positions.
