Dentons has announced the appointment of 25 new partners from the UK and Europe in the 2019 cycle. The new partners represent a range of practices, sectors and industries.

In Italy Michele Odello and Barbara Urselli have been appointed as partners in the Financial Services area of the Banking & Finance practice and in the Corporate M&A practice respectively.

The promotion is the result of an internal growth path and professional development which combines revenue targets, hard skills and soft skills.

Michele Odello joined Dentons in 2017. He advises on legal and regulatory matters in the banking, financial, investment and insurance fields, as well as in relation to the structuring of UCITS and alternative investment funds.

He also assists clients in extraordinary transactions involving entities active in the insurance, banking and financial markets sectors, including all of the regulatory processes for the authorization of supervised entities, as well as in the structuring of financial products and instruments, and in the solicitation of investments in complex financial products on a domestic and international basis. He also assists supervised entities and their representatives in the administrative phase of the sanction proceedings initiated by the Supervisory Authorities.

In addition, he provides legal advice with respect to the market abuse and anti-money laundering legislation. He is a member of the Board of Directors and control bodies of supervised entities.

Barbara Urselli joined Dentons in 2016. She deals with corporate and commercial law and assists Italian and foreign clients, providing advice on corporate matters.

In particular, she has significant experience in managing extraordinary transactions, from the sale and purchase of equity investments and companies to the establishment of joint ventures, mergers and demergers, corporate restructurings and reorganizations, as well as capital and corporate finance transactions and private equity transactions. She also provides advice in the structuring of corporate governance and in the management of ordinary activities and in out-of-court consultancy.

She has gained experience, inter alia, in the telecommunications, media, transport and energy sectors, with regard to both extraordinary transactions and commercial contracts, advising clients in the drafting and negotiation of different kind of commercial contracts.
