Dentons has advised Triodos Energy Transition Europe Fund (TETEF) on the expansion of its long-standing cooperation with Netherlands-based international developer and operator of solar power projects SolarAccess. TETEF has provided a shareholder loan and taken an equity stake in SolarAccess Investment Fund I BV, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) set up to finance rooftop solar assets for Wavin, the building and infrastructure business of Mexican company Orbia.
Wavin is an innovative solutions provider for the global building and infrastructure industry. The Dutch-originated company offers a wide range of solutions for safer drinking water supply, better sanitation and drainage, urban climate and flood resilience and indoor climate control. The clean electricity generated by rooftop and on the ground solar assets will be used on site by Wavin entities in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden and the UK. The capital will be used to fund the development of the assets and contribute to Wavin’s ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
TETEF invests in wind farms, solar photovoltaic and solar thermal installations across Europe. It aims to mitigate the effects of climate change by increasing the share of clean energy in the total energy mix and by reducing CO2 emissions.
Dentons has advised TETEF with a cross-border team consisting of partners Marcel Janssen (Amsterdam), Agnieszka Kulińska (Warsaw), Thomas Nebel (Dusseldorf), Marc Fornacciari (Paris), Florian-Alexander Wesche (Dusseldorf), counsel Graham Richmond (London), Cyrine Bizri (Paris), and associates Roxane Leclercq (Paris) and Frits Miedema (Amsterdam).
