Abrutyn is a counsel in Dentons’ Litigation practice, resident in the Washington, DC, and New York offices. She has more than 25 years of experience in-house at leading media companies, including Home Box Office, Inc. (HBO), Tribune Company and ABC, Inc. Abrutyn is a former co-editor of Communications Lawyer and a frequent author and speaker on media, intellectual property and First Amendment issues. She has taught media law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and at New York University’s School of Professional Studies’ Masters in Publishing program.

Nuʻuhiwa is a counsel based in Los Angeles and a member of Dentons’ Public Policy and Regulation practice and Native American Law and Policy practice. She has extensive experience advising and advocating for Native communities in Tribal, state and federal forums. Prior to joining Dentons, Nuʻuhiwa worked for the majority on the US Senate Committee on Indian Affairs as deputy staff director (118th Congress) and senior counsel (117th Congress), where she played an instrumental role in advancing Native equities through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. Nu‘uhiwa has also served as in-house counsel to Tribes in California and Arizona, Chief Advocate of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and adjunct law faculty at the University of Hawai‘i and Arizona State University.

Forbes is an associate in Dentons’ Native American Law and Policy practice, resident in the Washington, DC, office. His practice focuses on helping Tribes exercise and protect their sovereignty while navigating legal and regulatory issues, as well as representing Tribal governments before Congress. Prior to joining Dentons, Forbes worked as the public information officer for the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, a Tribal health organization serving 58 member Tribes across southwest Alaska. He is an enrolled member of the Native Village of Shishmaref in Alaska.
