Our Competition and Antitrust team in Milan and Rome provides national and multinational companies, business associations and public entities with legal advice and judicial assistance on all aspects of Italian and EU competition law, consumer law, state aid law, merger control, antitrust issues related to tender procedures (bid rigging) and markets regulations.

We represent our clients in administrative proceedings before the Italian Competition Authority and Administrative Courts (public antitrust enforcement). We also represent our clients in competition and consumer law litigations—both single and class action claims—before Italian courts (private antitrust enforcement).

We carry out antitrust audits for our clients, and assist them in the implementation of antitrust and consumer law compliance programs. We also design and implement ad hoc training sessions, including using e-learning platforms, for top management and employees.

The team has specific expertise in the enforcement of antitrust rules in the following sectors: environment, insurance, agri-food, energy, pharmaceutical, air and rail passenger transport, telecommunication and digital economy.

Dentons advises Eni Sustainable Mobility on the strategic partnership with PBF Energy for St. Bernard biorefinery in the US

Dentons assisted Eni Sustainable Mobility in entering into the agreements for a strategic partnership with PBF Energy in a 50-50 joint venture named St. Bernard Renewables (SBR) in relation to the biorefinery, currently under construction, co-located with PBF’s Chalmette Refinery in Louisiana, US, dedicated to the biorefining and production of HVO Diesel (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil, commonly known as ‘renewable diesel’ in North America). The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
