The Ministry of Health of Nicaragua issued Resolution No. 309-2022, eliminating the PCR test requirement to enter the country for crews, passengers, nationals or foreigners who want to enter through any border post (air, land or sea). A complete immunization schedule will be requested instead of the aforementioned test; it must be presented when the person enters the country through any border post.

The entry into force of this provision began on June 16, 2022. However, those who do not have their complete immunization schedule must present a negative PCR result upon entering the country.

The aforementioned resolution states textually:

• Second Point: "...a negative RT-PCR result for COVID-19 will not be requested as a requirement for entry into the country, only the complete immunization schedule against this disease will be required for entry..."
• Third Point: "...those persons who do not comply with the complete immunization schedule, must present a negative result of RT-PCR for COVID-19, 72 hours after the sample is taken, until the entry of the country..."

Complementarily, the Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aeronautics issued Resolution No. 018-2022, specifying that as of June 16, 2022 the RT-PCR for COVID-19 is no longer requested, which was substituted by the complete immunization schedule against said disease. Textually, this is what the resolution indicates:

• Point Two: "...All passengers and crew members entering the country must present the complete immunization schedule against this disease...."
