Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear on March 30 signed a bill to legalize medical marijuana, making the Bluegrass State the 38th in the nation to approve the medicinal use of cannabis for patients with serious health conditions.

While this law will not become fully effective in the Commonwealth this year, businesses that desire to operate in this new medical marijuana marketplace need to educate themselves on the nuances of this law and start preparing now if they want to be first to market in this new space.
