Cross-regional Court Performance Assessment

The online event on Cross-regional Court Performance Assessment is organised within the EBRD Regional Framework Project on Digital Transformation of Courts – Development of Online Courts for Small Claims. This initiative aims to define a set of performance indicators focused on the digital transformation of commercial dispute resolution processes. The indicators were applied as part of an assessment in seventeen EBRD economies in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, Central Asia, South-eastern Europe, Southern and Eastern Mediterranean and Türkiye.¹

The regional webinar aims to present the results of the assessment and highlights the extent to which Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia and Uzbekistan are ready to introduce online courts.²

1. The Assessment covers 17 EBRD economies across six EBRD regions: Central Europe and Baltic States (Estonia and Poland), Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia and Uzbekistan), Eastern Europe and the Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), Southeastern Europe (Albania, Bulgaria and Serbia), Southern and Eastern Mediterranean (Morocco and Tunisia), and Türkiye.

2. Online courts are defined as dispute resolution services conducted by default online, starting from the submission of the claim and ending with the delivery of the judgment, accessible directly to litigants and their representatives and augmented by services and tools to ease access to justice and litigant participation.
