On Tuesday, April 29, Dentons’ Employment and Labour team hosted our annual Spring Seminar, offering timely and practical insights into the most pressing legal and strategic challenges facing employers today. From managing workplace restructurings and updating termination clauses to navigating changes in employment insurance programs and flexible work arrangements, the sessions were designed to provide HR professionals and in-house counsel with practical tools to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.

The seminar featured keynote remarks from Paul M. Lalonde, Partner and Head of the Regulatory Practice Group, and Henry J. Chang, Partner in our Immigration Group, who discussed how the evolving U.S. political landscape may affect Canadian businesses, particularly in the areas of tariffs, trade, and cross-border mobility.

Moderated by Andy Pushalik, National Practice Group Leader, the event concluded with an engaging HR Leaders Panel featuring Karen Smith (Bruce Power), Ginger Butler (LifeLabs), and Stephanie Hedley (CN), who shared their experiences navigating disruption, managing employee expectations, and building organizational resilience.
