New York, NY—U.S. News – Best Lawyers "Best Law Firms" 2014 guide has ranked Dentons as a top-tier firm in 31 National and 81 Metropolitan practice areas, recognizing the strength of the Firm’s US practice groups based on a rigorous peer-review by lawyers and clients. Dentons' inclusion in the "Best Law Firms" guide acknowledges the expertise, responsiveness, integrity, industry knowledge and other critical qualities of our practice groups.

This year, the publication identified 54 Tier 1 practice areas, of which 15 were recognized as National Tier 1. Representing a significant increase from last year’s national rankings, 6 practices leaped from the second tier to the first. Thirty-nine practice areas were listed in Metropolitan Tier 1.

In order for a firm's practice groups to be eligible for the U.S. News – Best Lawyers guide, at least one lawyer must have been selected for that practice in Best Lawyers’  individual rankings for that year. Having met this threshold, Firms are then scored by practice area and geography, based on client feedback, as well as on information provided on the Law Firm Survey and the Law Firm Leaders Survey and Best Lawyers peer-review. In the 2014 edition, Best Lawyers recognized 82 Dentons US Lawyers and identified 5 Firm partners as "Lawyer of the Year."
