Washington, DC—Dentons announced today several prominent additions to its regulatory practices in Washington, DC. The new colleagues include Jeff Lane, formerly the assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental affairs at the US Department of Energy (DOE).They will leverage their deep US and international experience at the intersection of business, law, policy and strategy on behalf of Dentons' clients around the world.

Jeff Lane, as assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental affairs for the DOE, oversaw communication with members of Congress and key committees of jurisdiction.  He worked closely on energy issues with senior level officials from the White House Domestic Policy Council and the Office of Management and Budget to develop and communicate the DOE's policy, programmatic and budgetary goals. Last year, he helped lead the nomination process for Secretary Ernie Moniz, who was confirmed unanimously by the Senate. Prior to joining the DOE, Lane was chief of staff to Colorado Senators Michael Bennet and Kenneth Salazar.

Lane was counsel at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice in the firm's government relations group from 2002 - 2006. He earned his JD from Duke University School of Law and his BA, magna cum laude, from Rhodes College.
