New York, NY—New York Litigation partner Stephen Marshall has been appointed to the Panel of Distinguished Neutrals by the International Institute of Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), the leading independent nonprofit resource in alternative conflict resolution.  He will serve as both an arbitrator and a mediator, bringing to the position more than four decades of training and experience in dispute resolution.

Founded in 1979, CPR was the first organization to provide a platform to help corporate counsel and law firms avoid the high cost of litigation through alternative dispute resolution (ADR). With over 4,000 operating companies and 1,500 law firms signing on to CPR’s ADR Pledge, obliging them to pursue alternative options before resorting to litigation as a means of settling their conflicts, CPR has become a global resource for avoidance, management and resolution of business-related and other disputes. In pursuit of its mission, CPR helps match disputing parties with one of the esteemed members of its Panels of Distinguished Neutrals, which are comprised of elite industry professionals from around the world and specializing in more than 20 practice areas. Neutrals are selected through a rigorous peer-review and credentialing process to ensure a successful history of resolved complex business disputes for members seeking impartial mediation or arbitration.

Steve's selection by CPR was no doubt influenced by his sterling record as a commercial litigator, specializing in complex business disputes and securities fraud class action, insurance coverage and product liability litigation, as well as his involvement in National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitrations. This appointment marks the third body to add Steve to their exclusive rosters. He is also a member of the Mediation Panels of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court, New York County. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Federal Bar Council (FBC) and is a member of the Audit Committee of the FBC and Federal Bar Foundation.
