Casablanca—Global law firm Dentons advised Faurecia on the development of its third manufacturing plant in Morocco to be developed on a build-to-suit project financed by a Moroccan property company prior to its rental by the latter to Faurecia under a long-term lease agreement. The third site will open no later than early 2019 and will be dedicated to build car interiors and emissions control parts. The future plant will ultimately employ 300 highly-qualified workers and will open in the coastal city of Kenitra on the Atlantic Free Zone site (AFZ) located near the planned car manufacturing site of PSA Group in Morocco.
Faurecia created in 1997 is a French Group which operates worldwide. The group present in 35 countries specializes in automotive equipment engineering and production lines.
AFZ is the new industrial and logistic park located 40 kilometers from Rabat. AFZ features industrial and logistic facilities and a show room as well as offices and mixed-use facilities. With over three million square meters of total area, the project is described as one of the largest on the African continent.
In July 2017, Dentons Morocco advised Faurecia on the setting up of its second manufacturing plant of automotive seat covers located in Salé Technopolis free zone in Morocco.
