Branden Gross was invited to the signing of Senate Bill 139. On behalf of the Kentucky Land Title Association (KYLTA), Branden and others worked with Senator Stephen West (R-Paris) to amend KRS 382.135 to codify the provisions of OAG 16-006 as it relates to an individual and his/her “full name” for a deed. 

The new legislation would allow flexibility for what is a “full name” and it provides that a non-compliant recorded instrument does not prevent the instrument from becoming notice as otherwise provided by law.  Governor Matt Bevin signed S.B. 139 on April 10, 2018, and the effective date of the legislation is July 14, 2018.
