London—Dentons has been appointed to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme's (FSCS) legal panel for a second four-year term.
FSCS is the UK's statutory compensation scheme for customers of authorised financial services firms, set up by the UK Government in 2001 and funded by the financial services industry.
Its second legal panel which consists of eight firms will last for four years and involve three lots of work – core legal services, Scots law, and HR/employment advice. Dentons has been appointed to advise on FSCS's core legal services and it is one of five firms which continues its tenure from FSCS's first legal panel.
Richard Caird and Felicity Ewing, partners in Dentons' UK Financial Disputes team, said, "We have acted for FSCS and its predecessor the ICS for 30 years, and are delighted to have been reselected by FSCS to advise on its core legal services over the next four years. We look forward to working with FSCS to help it meet its objectives during this panel period."
James Darbyshire, FSCS’s General Counsel, said, “We’re delighted to announce the successful procurement of our new legal panel. The number and quality of firms made for an exceptionally strong field and is testament both to the degree to which FSCS’s role is recognised and valued, and to the quality and impact of FSCS’s legal work.
“Against a backdrop of increasing customer expectation and a changing economic and regulatory landscape, I’m confident we’ve got the right mix of legal partners to help us deliver our strategic priorities in the years ahead.”
