Muscat—Dentons was proud to sponsor ten marathon relay teams of Omani college students comprising of six members each as well as fielding two teams of Dentons lawyers for the eighth annual Muscat Marathon held on 18 January 2019.

First organised in 2012 with 135 competitors, the Muscat Marathon has grown to include more than 4500 competitors taking part over two days, making it one of the region's premier running events. The Marathon also received formal recognition last year by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), cementing its international status. In recognition of sponsoring 72 runners in the relay marathon event, Dentons took the award for the most teams sponsored in the relay.

Speaking of the Marathon, Nick Simpson, Managing Partner of the Dentons' Muscat office, commented, "We are delighted to support our local students, promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and to support Oman as it establishes itself as a world-class sports destination."
