Dubai—Dentons partner Sadaf Buchanan was named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Middle East Finance by London-based newspaper Financial News.

The inaugural FN50 list recognises women in the Middle East and North Africa who are making their mark in driving strategy, revenues and innovation in the region's financial sector. Sadaf is joined in the FN50 by CEOs, fund managers, traders, financiers and fintech leaders from top companies operating in the region’s institutional market.

Sadaf leads Dentons’ financial institutions sector group across the UK and Middle East and is also head of the Firm's Oman Banking and Finance practice. She has practised as a lawyer for over 20 years internationally in the areas of restructuring and insolvency, banking and finance and, in recent years, has also advised on the majority of landmark debt capital markets and project financing transactions in Oman with clients such as Standard Chartered, Citigroup, HSBC and Credit Suisse.

Sadaf co-founded Sayyidaat Dentons, the Middle East chapter of Dentons' professional women's network which launched in 2014. She also sits on the Steering Committee of 30% Club’s GCC Chapter and has worked on a number of campaigns and with mentoring organisations internationally to promote greater gender balance and encourage corporations to harness the benefits of inclusive leadership practices.
