Dentons has strengthened its Banking and Finance practice in Amsterdam with the recruitment of two new partners, Arno Voerman and Pien Kerckhaert. Their arrival on April 1, 2020 represents yet another high-profile addition to the practice, bolstering the team’s capabilities in FinTech and financial regulation.

Arno Voerman joins Dentons from Van Doorne, where he co-led the FinTech and Payments team. The only lawyer ranked in Band 1 for FinTech Legal in the Netherlands by Chambers & Partners, he offers market-leading legal capabilities in payments, credit cards, e-money, consumer credit, cryptocurrencies and alternative finance. He advises Dutch and foreign financial institutions, FinTech companies and investors on market entry, license applications, and product launches. He is also active in financial litigation, and provides advice on compliance and supervision, as well as the enforcement measures of the Dutch financial supervisors DNB and AFM.

Pien Kerckhaert joins from Finnius Advocaten, where she was a counsel. She is an experienced financial regulatory lawyer, advising financial institutions on securities law and financial supervision law, and a broader portfolio of clients on the application and impact of financial regulatory laws such as Solvency II, MiFID II, AIFMD and CRD IV/CRR. She also has extensive experience with the regulation of consumer credit and insurance brokerage services. In addition, she assists clients with respect to the development of new products, and she regularly assists client in respect of acquisitions within the financial sector.
