Berlin—Global law firm Dentons has advised Swiss-based AMEOS Group on its acquisition of Sana Kliniken Ostholstein GmbH ("SKO"). The acquisition will help embed SKO's facilities into a better care structure in the Ostholstein region and will complement its medical services.

The AMEOS Group is one of the largest private healthcare providers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With approximately 15,700 employees, AMEOS provides care for patients in 99 facilities at 54 locations. The group is not only a major provider of somatic hospitals with intensive care, but also one of the largest private providers of psychiatric hospitals. In addition, AMEOS has proven expertise in the field of residential care and rehabilitation.

SKO operates three general hospitals in Fehmarn, Eutin and Oldenburg as well as a geriatric specialist hospital in Middelburg together with an affiliated nursing home for the severely disabled, which will now be under the management of the AMEOS Group from January 1, 2022.
