London—Dentons, PICCASO Privacy Labs and Capgemini have collaborated on the launch of a white paper: How to navigate the complex data privacy risk landscape.

The paper was compiled by a diverse team of 17 members from various organisations and industries to offer expert guidance on managing data privacy risk. It also incorporates a Privacy Risk Assessment Methodology which is designed to provide practical solutions to data privacy risk management.

Nick Graham, Partner, Privacy & Cybersecurity group at Dentons and who is a member of the PICCASO Advisory Board, chaired the initiative, along with Graham Hunt and Natasja Pieterman of Capgemini.  

This white paper examines the role that data privacy risk assessment has in an organisation and offers practical guidance on how this should be operationalised. It also highlights the challenges and opportunities associated with data privacy risk. The aim is to provide businesses with a methodology that can help them on their risk management journey. 

The document emphasizes clear role definition in data protection across all levels within an organization. It encourages collaboration between central data privacy teams and business operations for better outcomes. It also provides guidance on communication strategies with stakeholders and C-suite executives, emphasizing that good communication is vital for effective management of data privacy risks.
