Prague—Professor Jaroslav Fenyk, Of Counsel in Dentons’ Prague office, received the Liberty Award from the Chicago-based Bohemian Lawyers´ Association. The award recognizes his exemplary commitment to the Central European communities and his outstanding communities and his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and the rule of law in the Czech Republic. It also recognizes his noteworthy cooperation with American colleagues.

Jaroslav Fenyk, Vice President Emeritus of the Constitutional Court, is highly respected for his deep knowledge of criminal law in the Czech Republic and the European Union. As a member of expert committees of the Council of Europe and the European Union, he has participated in the harmonization of criminal law, served in the International Association of Prosecutors and collaborated in the development of the European Union’s model criminal law opus Corpus Juris. He has worked with the US Department of Justice, the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Law in Freiburg, the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at the University of London, the Academy of European Law in Trier, and with the Universities of Chicago, Ghent, Nijmegen, Trento, Rotterdam, Miskolc and Vienna, among others.
