Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces today that partner Julia Taylor has been selected by Missouri Lawyers Media for the 2020 Up & Coming Awards. Taylor is a member of Dentons’ Real Estate practice and is resident in the Firm’s Kansas City office.

The annual Up & Coming Awards recognize early-career lawyers who demonstrate professional excellence while making a positive impact on their profession and communities. Taylor was one of 50 legal professionals under the age of 40, or within their first 10 years of practice, who have demonstrated professional accomplishment, skill and leadership beyond their years, as well as an extraordinary commitment to their communities through volunteer service and leadership.

Throughout her career, Taylor has negotiated contracts for development of millions of square feet of retail, office, industrial, mixed-use, multifamily residential and hotel projects in Missouri and across the nation. She has extensive experience representing regional and national financial institutions on construction and term financing issues, as well as counseling tenants on leasing matters. She has also worked in the sports industry, representing the developer-owner of a new professional sports stadium and entertainment district in regard to leasing, construction financing and overall ownership structure, among other matters.

As one of only a few Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professionals in Kansas and Missouri, Taylor advises clients on issues related to sustainable building design in renovation and construction projects. An active member of Dentons’ US Diversity and Inclusion Committee, she helps foster an environment where everyone respects, supports and learns from each other’s skills, experiences and differences.

In addition to her practice, Taylor serves as trustee of the Mid America Chapter of the MS Society and as a member of the Operations Committee for the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Kansas City. She is also a former president of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Kansas City, where she emphasized networking opportunities and programming geared toward professional development and industry insight.
