Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces today that Eric Tanenblatt was selected among Georgia Trend’s 2020 Legacy Leaders. Tanenblatt serves as Global Chair of Dentons’ Public Policy and Regulation group and leads the Firm’s US Public Policy practice.

As Georgia Trend magazine celebrates its 35th anniversary with the September 2020 issue, Tanenblatt is one of 15 people featured who have made a long-term and often behind-the-scenes difference in Georgia.

With three decades of experience at the very highest levels of the federal and state governments, Tanenblatt has been an influential leader, strategist and agent of change for significant policy impacting Georgia. He has served in the administrations of three US presidents and as a senior advisor to both a US senator and a governor. Over his decades of service to Georgia, Tanenblatt has been involved in efforts to save the state’s military installations, to successfully change Georgia’s flag, and to recruit major economic development projects to the state. He was an early opponent of the proposed “religious liberty” legislation that would open the door for discrimination and played a major role in brokering the historic 2003 deal to help the State of Georgia assist the City of Atlanta with financing improvements to its water and sewer system while under a judicial consent decree.

An advocate for civic service, Tanenblatt is founder of Hands on Georgia, and served on the boards of Hands on Atlanta, Trees Atlanta, the Corporation for National and Community Service. He presently sits on the board of Points of Light as is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta. He is also continuing his decades of service on the boards of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Buckhead Coalition.
