Crain’s Chicago Business bestowed their annual Notable Women in Law award on partners Shannon Shin, Linda White and Mary Wilson. The recognition honors influential individuals in Chicago’s business community who have seen success in client operations during the last 18 months.

Shin, partner in Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, was recognized for being at the forefront of litigating COVID-19 contract issues as counsel for one of the nation’s largest real estate investment trusts and for her work advising multinational corporations in responding to multistate attorneys general investigations regarding consumer products. In addition to her practice, she co-chairs the Firm’s Asian, South Asian, Pacific-Asian Professionals Network, where she serves as a mentor to junior lawyers at the Firm.

Chair of Dentons’ US Real Estate practice, White was selected for her leading role in some of the largest real estate transactions in the country, most recently the more than US$650 million renovation of the Willis Tower, a world-famous landmark and home to Dentons’ Chicago office. This work guarantees that the Willis Tower will continue to be a vital hub for occupants and visitors from around the world who will enjoy its enlivened presence in Chicago. White was the past chair of Dentons’ Finance Committee.

Wilson, who focuses her national practice on finance and health care law, recently served as finance counsel to a leading Chicago metro health system in numerous matters including financing to refund US$1 billion in debt. The first woman US managing partner for Dentons, Wilson has held many leadership roles since joining Dentons 17 years ago, including Chicago managing partner for more than five years, co-chairing the Associates Development Committee and continuing to serve on Dentons’ US Board.
