Crain’s New York Business bestowed its annual Notable Woman in Law award on partner Sandra Hauser, head of Dentons US Commercial Litigation practice and a member of the Firm’s Global Litigation Leadership team. Hauser was recognized with this prestigious award due to her status as an influential woman lawyer in New York’s business community who has seen success on behalf of clients during the last 18 months. This is the second time Hauser has received this recognition, the first being in 2020.

A leading lawyer in the financial services sector, Hauser regularly leads the defense of companies facing class actions and complex commercial cases in trial and appellate courts. Most recently, she defeated a class certification on behalf of a major global insurance company in a California federal court challenging alleged wrongful terminations of life insurance policies under California law. She also won a full dismissal of five consolidated class actions filed against a major global insurance company, ultimately claiming billions of dollars in damages and penalties.

In addition to having an active practice, Hauser is dedicated to pro bono service. She is chair of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, a legal policy center that works on behalf of low-income families and communities, and active in the New York Says Thank You Foundation, an organization founded by her family, and its Stars of Hope project.
