The global market in transportation remains a dynamic environment, with transportation authorities exploring new strategies for revitalization and maintenance of key infrastructure and new investment to accommodate growth in demand. Authorities must choose from a wide array of different options available to satisfy this demand, including:
But any multibillion dollar investment in transport will happen against a backdrop of spending constraints among transport authorities—either because of budget cuts or availability of private finance. Transport authorities therefore need to make difficult decisions about how to procure the transport infrastructure they need. Public procurement plays a key role in the promotion of transparency and competition between companies in national and international markets.
Dentons has a leading public procurement practice providing legal advice on all aspects of the procurement process, such as calls for tender, specific administrative terms of tender and qualification procedures. We also assist our clients on compliance issues in the context of public procurement procedures, including competition and anti-bribery issues, and in preparing applications and resolving disputes relating to public procurement law.
We combine our leading public procurement practice with an intimate knowledge of the transportation sector. We have experience around the world helping our clients navigate contractual, legal, regulatory, financing and procurement issues. We can help you formulate policies and strategy to deliver a world-class transport system.
