This year, CPK will launch tenders totalling around PLN 30 billion. These will include the construction of roads or construction work for the Warsaw-Lodz railway line. Currently, tenders worth around PLN 4 billion are being conducted for the construction of a long-distance tunnel in Łódź and the creation of a baggage system.
CPK (Centralny Port Komunikacyjny) is a State Treasury Company established to prepare and implement the Multi-Annual Programme of the Central Communication Port covering the construction of a new central airport for Poland and the coordination and implementation of associated investments, including a new network of railways, motorways, motorways and other transmission infrastructure.
On 14 April 2025, CPK announced that this year it plans to initiate tender proceedings to the value of around PLN 30 billion. Among the largest of these will be the construction of roads connecting the airport to the public road network, construction work on the Warsaw-Lódź railway line, the services of the General Engineer for the airport and the conduct of a competitive dialogue on the construction of the terminal. Each of the above-mentioned proceedings is estimated to amount to more than PLN 1 billion.
The publication of the CPK tendering schedule for the current year is intended to streamline the entire process and enable potential contractors to better prepare for submitting tenders. This will contribute to increasing competitiveness and achieving the highest possible quality of bids presented to the company. The plan for the tenders is illustrative. It includes, among other things, the expected dates of the proceedings and the approximate value of the contracts.
The tender proceedings with the highest value will be launched in the second half of this year. Although the finished airport is still quite far away from being handed over, the projects CPK is already implementing will give a strong impetus to the Polish economy, involving many companies in the development of the national infrastructure.
Some of the proceedings will take the form of executive proceedings, continuing the framework agreements concluded.
CPK is currently implementing tenders for an estimated value of PLN 4 billion. A significant part of this amount are tenders for the construction of a long-distance tunnel on railway line 85 in Łódź and the creation of a baggage system.
According to the new timetable, the airport is to be operational by the end of 2032, at the same time as the first section of the High-Speed Railway. The value of the entire programme is more than PLN 131 billion.
