Within the framework of the National Green Hydrogen Strategy and the commitments assumed at the COP 26 in Glasgow, Scotland, the Ministry of National Assets, on November 23, issued Resolution No. 988, which approves the National Plan for the Promotion of Green Hydrogen Production on Fiscal Land.

This Resolution establishes the guidelines and action plan for the administration of the fiscal patrimony committed to the development of this means of energy production.

The Plan aims to promote green hydrogen ("H2V") technology in Chile at an early stage by opening a single window of time for individuals interested in the development of this industry to submit applications for fiscal land for the generation of energy and its consequent production of H2V and its derivatives.

The allocation of this land will be carried out - exceptionally - directly through onerous concessions that may be granted for a term of up to 40 years. The plants must develop projects of at least 20 MW of installed capacity of electrolyzers.

This strategy - jointly promoted by the Ministry of National Assets and the Ministry of Energy - has been called "Ventana a Futuro" (Window to the Future) and contemplates a prior consultation period, where interested parties can find out about the conditions of the process and the fiscal land available. Then, a unique and exceptional period of two weeks to receive applications will start.

Therefore, the correct implementation of this initiative could develop by 2050 a national market for green hydrogen and its derivatives of US$9 billion per year, and an export market of US$24 billion per year, with a market potential equivalent to that of copper today.
