AI developments in Canada and the United States

Amidst the recent and rapid rise of generative artificial intelligence (AI) across the globe, there have been new calls for AI regulation. While consensus builds on the need for comprehensive and coordinated AI regulation, the specific development of such regulation remains uncertain. At the time of this article, there are currently over 800 AI policy initiatives in 69 countries around the world. In this publication we look at two neigbouring jurisdictions – Canada and the United States (US) – offering key insights for organizations seeking to manage AI risks at an enterprise level.
