The China Mining Congress & Expo was held in Tianjin, China from 22 to 25 September 2016. Dentons presented a workshop to conference delegates on “Cross-Border Mining Investment - New Opportunities and New Challenges”. Partners from Dentons’ offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Vancouver, Casablanca, Cape Town and Johannesburg provided an overview of mining law in each respective country and discussions were held about how to overcome some of the key challenges regarding Chinese outbound investments in the mining sector. Dentons also hosted a cocktail event during the conference.

Delegates were made aware of the cross-border reach of Dentons and the fact that legal services are easily accessible to clients across the globe.

The China Mining Congress & Expo is an annual event held in China. This year the event was hosted by the Ministry of Land and Resources of the People’s Republic of China, Tianjin Municipal People’s Government and China Mining Association. Various international mining companies and mining service providers participated as exhibitors. Government delegations from all over the world, including South Africa, Canada, Mali, Niger, Zambia and Peru were also present at the conference.
