Mining in Tanzania

Tanzania: The Mineral Policy of Tanzania was promulgated in 2009 by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, which is charged with the responsibility of formulating a mineral policy, overseeing its administration and coordinating the development of the mineral sector of Tanzania. The Policy is driven by its vision, which is to have an effective mineral sector contributing significantly to the acceleration of socioeconomic development through the sustainable development and utilisation of mineral resources in Tanzania by 2025.
