Takura Kawai, Dentons partner heading the Japan Desk EMEA, will be joining an economic mission to Japan organized by the office of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Bohuslav Sobotka, and the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Travelling to Japan to attend a series of events scheduled for 26-30 June 2017 will be representatives of the foremost Czech companies from the banking and finance, defense, medical and energy sectors, among others.

One of the events to be staged during the mission’s stay in Japan, on 28 June 2017, will be the “Czech Republic – Japan Business and Investment Forum 2017” organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Japan, and the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition to members of the Czech delegation, this forum will be attended by some 150 representatives of Japanese companies and officials from Japan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. Takura Kawai will take part in a discussion panel exploring the prospects and future of the business environment in the Czech Republic. Among the topics to be discussed during the forum is the current and anticipated state of the Czech economy, the possible impact of Brexit and the so-called Industry 4.0 revolution on the operation of Czech companies, and ways of attracting more Japanese investments to the Czech Republic.
