Dentons' Parents Connect and Black Professionals Network are excited to host the third instalment of our virtual event series: "Talking to your kids about race".

Please join us on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 for a conversation with Uju Asika, author of "Bringing Up Race: How to Raise a Kind Child in a Prejudiced World".

In this joint Dentons Black Professionals Network and Parents Connect event, Uju will speak about whether, when and how to start talking to your children about race and racism, and give practical tips on responding to their observations.

Christine Armstrong, author of "The Mother of All Jobs: How to Have Children and a Career and Stay Sane(ish)" again joins us to lead a question and answer session with Uju, followed by an open forum for audience questions.

Uju will address a range of topics including:

• My child doesn’t see colour. Is it too early to talk about race and racism?
• What to do if my child asks an awkward question about race in public?
• How do I talk to my child about Black Lives Matter?
• What if my child says something racist?
• How do I handle my child being racially bullied?
• How can we practice anti-racism as a family?
