Dentons, the global law firm, today named Ronald J. Hedges as senior counsel in the Firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. A nationally-recognized authority on e-discovery techniques and the management and discovery of electronically stored information, Hedges will be resident in Dentons' New York and Short Hills, New Jersey offices.
At Dentons, Hedges will advise clients on the development of complex litigation and discovery management strategies, as well as confidentiality orders and sealing of judicial records and proceedings. He will also provide counsel to clients on electronic medical record risks and global information governance.
"We are pleased to add Ron to our litigation practice," said Dentons US Managing Partner Mike McNamara. "His broad and varied background in the courtroom, as both a magistrate judge and as a seasoned trial lawyer, will enrich our ability to provide clients with critical advice as they navigate high stakes litigation matters."
A former United States Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, Hedges will counsel clients on pre-trial case management and trial strategies, drawing on his vast experience as a member of the federal judiciary and seasoned private practitioner.
Hedges is a member of the American Law Institute and the Advanced E-Discovery Institute of Georgetown University Law Center. He has taught courses on e-discovery, evidence and mediation at the Georgetown University Law Center, Mississippi College School of Law, Rutgers School of Law and the Seton Hall University School of Law.
Hedges received his JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, and earned a BA from the University of Maryland.
