Berlin—Global law firm Dentons has strengthened its renowned Competition and Antitrust practice with the hire of Dr. Bertold Bär-Bouyssière as Of Counsel, effective June 2021. He is based in the Berlin and Brussels offices and brings more than 25 years of experience in German and EU competition and antitrust law.

Bertold Bär-Bouyssière was previously a partner and head of the competition team at DLA Piper in Brussels. His experience comprises all areas of competition and antitrust law, particularly merger control, distribution network design, litigation and state aid law. He advises clients in a variety of industries, most notably pharmaceutical/life sciences, aerospace, energy, technology and financial services. As a long-time co-chair of the Competition Policy Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU), he has also contributed to the drafting of numerous competition policy initiatives, particularly those related to the European Union's digital and foreign policies.
