As a side event of China Arbitration Week, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), together with Dentons, is organizing a webinar to offer a Chinese perspective on the balance of efficiency and fairness in arbitration in the context of COVID-19.

As well as having a huge impact on people’s health and the world economy, the COVID-19 pandemic has also brought new issues that affect international arbitration.

The evolution of dispute resolution follows the demands of users; therefore digital technologies have already been used to meet the new demands of running arbitrations during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, efficiency and fairness, as two core principles in arbitration, should not be neglected, no matter what new technological tools we are using or what new challenges we are facing in arbitration.
