New York, NY—ACG New York, the founding chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, recognized Dentons in its 2014 Champion's Awards. The organization named Chime Communication PLC's acquisition of Just Marketing Inc. (JMI) as its Deal of the Year in the US$50 million to US$100 million category. A cross-border Dentons team represented JMI, a portfolio company of Spire Capital, in this transaction.

The ACG New York Champion's Awards recognize companies, individual dealmakers and transactions in the middle market mergers and acquisitions industry in the greater New York area. The winning deals and dealmakers were selected by independent body of experts from a group of qualifying finalists in each category. ACG New York teamed with The M&A Advisor, an organization committed to M&A dealmaking, as well as turnaround and finance professionals, to present the awards.

JMI, a global marketing firm focused on motorsports, was acquired from Spire Capital as a wholly-owned subsidiary by the London-based Chime for US$76 million. Completed in 2013, the strategic acquisition served to expand Chime’s sports marketing division, CSM Sport & Entertainment. The deal marked Chime’s largest sports-related acquisition since the creation of CSM in 2007.

The Firm has served as long-time counsel to Spire Capital, a private equity firm specializing in business services, information services, education, media and communications sector investments.
