BGD attorneys William J. Kaiser Jr. and David T. McGimpsey would like to congratulate firm client Superior Ag on beginning construction of their new feed mill in Dale, Indiana. BGD assisted Superior Ag with the purchase, rezoning, economic incentives, and construction of the feed mill. The project started this week and is expected to be completed by the spring of 2018, according to The Dubois County Herald. The state-of-the-art mill, which will cost $20 million, is expected to act as a regional hub for animal nutrition production. Kaiser and McGimpsey attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new feed mill on Jan. 4, 2017.

The feed mill, which will be 141 feet tall when completed, will be able to produce 3,000 tons of livestock nutrition every week and 150,000 tons every year with the help of an automated stacker and bagger, as well as a new pelleting line.

As reported by the publication, the new Dale feed mill will be larger than all three of Superior Ag's existing mills in St. Meinrad, Jasper, and Princeton combined, and will be able to produce 20 percent more per shift than the sum of the other three mills. During construction of the Dale mill, Superior Ag's three current feed mills will continue to serve farms in the area.

The new mill site will merge Superior Ag management and operation teams to a central location in a cooperative footprint. With combined experience in a single location, Superior Ag claims they will be able to deliver excellent products to customers even more efficiently.
