Dentons has announced the hire of partner Junyi Bai as co-head of China Desk in Italy. Mr. Bai joins from law firm Giovannelli & Associati where he was a partner. He brings a wealth of professional experience in China, having worked first in Beijing at Chiomenti and then in Hong Kong at King & Wood PRC Lawyers.At Dentons, Mr. Bai will co-head the Italian China Desk which is part of the wider Europe China Desk, the Firm’s regional network of lawyers focused on helping clients maximize business opportunities between Europe and China.

Mr. Bai has significant experience in corporate law and M&A transactions between Italian and Chinese companies, including listed companies in mainland China and Hong Kong, Chinese state-owned companies and diplomatic representations in a wide range of sectors including: automotive, aerospace, luxury, food and beverage, medical, pharmaceutical, real estate and e-commerce.

In addition to his professional practice, Bai is also active in academia. The first professor of law of Chinese origin in Italy, he teaches Chinese Commercial Law at the Faculty of Economics of the International Studies University of Rome.

In 2016 and 2017, Junyi Bai was named by Milano Finanza among the 100 most influential personalities in relations between Italy and China.
