London—Dentons has been appointed as legal adviser to the Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute (AISI). A directorate within the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), the AISI's mission is to 'minimise surprise to the UK and humanity from rapid and unexpected advances in AI'.

The firm will support AISI in its' role as a world leader in research and testing to safely harness the power of AI. The directorate will be working closely with Dentons' regulatory, technology, commercial and competition teams as it aims to develop research, tools and technical capabilities needed to understand the risks of advanced AI and enable its governance. The firm's appointment was made through the Government's CCS Framework RM6179 Lot 2 – Financial and Complex Legal Services panel.
