London—Context:

• Quadsat is a leading deep tech company focused principally on drone-based techniques for testing and measurement of satellite antennae. It uses Groundbreaking RF measurement solutions to ensure global connectivity and security, providing highly efficient on-site testing and calibration for antennas and RF systems as well as monitoring of radio spectrum interference.
• Quadsat has raised €16 Million in grants and private investment to date and won a number of prestigious contracts to provide SATCOM operators and defense businesses with vital insights.
• Quadsat has been developing new applications for its core technologies including novel applications utilising emitter localisation and characterisation.
• Critical point in time: Faced with exciting new markets for its applications, Quadsat embarked on further fundraising activities in order to ensure it has the resources to meet these exciting commercial opportunities.

Challenge:

• Rapidly identifying and inventorying all of Quadsats Intangible assets as well as understanding how they protect and underpin existing and future business (MOAT).
• Ensuring the business is well prepared for deeper levels of due diligence coming with higher investment values. This was achieved with the assistance of Intanify's Discovery + Risk interfaces, using the outputs identify and fix due diligence red flags well ahead of real due diligence.
• Ensuring the business has a short term, medium term and long-term IP management objectives which are effective to propel the business plan and yet proportionate.

Machine + Human:

• Intanify's machine: Quadsat CEO (Joakim Espeland) and key engineers provided brief answers to computer-generated questions and were guided through document selection for machine processing (< 2 hours).
• The machine then processed the uploaded documentation to automatically generate a vast inventory of Quadsat's intangible assets across 25 different categories of asset. This process identified 145 intangible assets for example brand equity, proprietary data, trade secrets, knowledge bases, software copyright potential designs, trademarks customer and supplier contracts and the like.
• Dr Justin Hill (Leader in the Field of IP), who proposed Intanify, was able to rapidly verify the full inventory of intellectual assets of nearly 120 assets on top of the registered intellectual property the company already knew it had. (<1 hour).
• Intanify's risk platform was used to assess IP health scores and red flags concerning the intellectual asset inventory and external exposures. The red flag list and associated reports provided Quadsat with actionable ways to eliminate or mitigate risks and optimise value.

Quadsat is now a subscriber of Intanify as a tool for managing is vast array of intangible assets and also uses Intanify as a register for it's trade secrets.
