Dentons’ Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy (RIB) practice was ranked No. 8 in The Deal Pipeline’s Top Bankruptcy Law Firms league table. The Deal Pipeline ranked nearly 200 law firms based on their US and Canadian bankruptcy matter activity during the first quarter of 2015. This ranking marks the Firm's second appearance in the top 10 of the bankruptcy league table.

The Deal Pipeline’s ranking reflects the Firm’s substantial bankruptcy activity, and comes on the heels of a banner year in 2014. Dentons was involved in several high-profile matters, which dominated headlines and established important precedents in the bankruptcy world.

The Firm achieved a landmark settlement for the Official Committee of Retirees for the City of Detroit in the largest Chapter 9 bankruptcy in US history. This representation was honored by The M&A Advisor with the 2014 Restructuring of the Year Award. The Firm is also counsel to the directors and officers and certain related companies of US and Canadian cross border debtors Montreal Maine & Atlantic Railway, Ltd. and Montreal Maine & Atlantic Canada Co. in simultaneous cross-border insolvency proceedings arising from the July 2013 derailment of seventy-two tanker cars carrying Bakken crude oil through eastern Quebec.
