Responsibilities and practice

Dentons US LLP is seeking a mid-level or senior associate to join our sophisticated Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials and at least 5 years of complex litigation experience, including false advertising and consumer class action experience. Our associates work collaboratively with our partners and clients and are key members of our team. Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Working on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals
• Drafting complex case evaluations and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions and other documents for court cases and arbitrations
• Managing complex disputes, including overseeing discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
• Taking and defending depositions and related work with fact witnesses and experts
• Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel
• Conducting legal research and writing memoranda

Pursuant with California law, the salary range for this position will be $325,000 to $365,000, based on experience. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Dentons US LLP offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.

Personal skills/attributes

• Has exceptional writing and analytical skills, and can effectively communicate research into meaningful written work product
• Is dedicated and goal-oriented, with a strong work ethic
• Possesses superior organizational and time-management skills
• Has strong presentation skills and is able to clearly communicate advice to clients and colleagues
• Is conscientious and displays resourcefulness in problem-solving
• Embraces teamwork and values collaboration

Technical skills

• At least 5 years of complex litigation experience, including false advertising and consumer class action experience is required
• Strong writing and case management skills, direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills is required
• Previous law firm experience is preferred
• Deposition and court experience is preferred
• Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus

• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing
• Must include a law school transcript and writing sample with application
• Must include a cover letter detailing complex litigation experience, including false advertising and consumer class action experience
