In the first half of 2022, Dentons significantly strengthened its Banking and Finance practice in Warsaw with the addition of three new counsel - Patrycja Polasz, Jakub Zienkiewicz and Paweł Długoborski - and one senior associate, Aleksandra Czyż. The team now includes more than 30 lawyers.  These investments in talent reflect the growing client demand for Dentons’ legal advice on investments and financing projects in Poland.

Patrycja Polasz is dual-qualified in Polish and English law. For more than 10 years, she has advised both lenders and borrowers on a variety of financing structures, with a focus on real estate, corporate and project finance. She is vastly experienced in developing strategies for distressed credit facilities and negotiating changes to existing financing schemes.

Jakub Zienkiewicz has more than 10 years’ experience in domestic and cross-border real estate finance, general corporate lending, leveraged and acquisition finance as well as soft financial restructurings. He has been involved in several of the biggest real estate financing transactions in the Polish market, which related to a wide variety of assets, including student housing, residential rentals, warehouses, office and retail. He advises both investors - including private equity funds, public and private companies - as well as Polish and foreign financial institutions.   

Paweł Długoborski advises on the whole spectrum of credit health, from healthy credit new money deals (corporate, acquisition and project finance) to refined stretched and/or distressed credit situations (out-of-court and hybrid restructurings, distressed debt trades, distressed M&A financings and rescue financings). He has advised financial institutions, companies and investors in some of the largest multi-faceted out-of-court financial restructurings in recent years.

Aleksandra Czyż focuses on investment financing, including financing of corporate acquisitions, real estate and investment projects, as well as in refinancing. She represents Polish and foreign banks, private equity funds, other parties providing financing, as well as borrowers on both domestic and cross-border finance transactions.

In the most recently published The Legal 500 EMEA ranking, Dentons was once again ranked in Tier 1 in Banking and Finance in Poland. In addition, individual recommendations were given to partners Mateusz Toczyski ("Leading Individual"), Bartosz Nojek ("Next Generation Partner") and Tomasz Zwoliński ("Rising Star").

Similarly, the Chambers Global and Chambers Europe rankings have once again placed the team in the high Band 2 in Banking and Finance in both Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. Partners Mateusz Toczyski and Mark Segall received individual recommendations for the CEE region.
