Amb. Dr. Andor Nagy is a key member in Dentons’ Budapest office and since September 2024 the CEO of Dentons Europe Consulting, as well as member of the Public Law and Regulatory practice. With a primary focus on public administration, Andor brings unparalleled experience and a wealth of qualifications to his role. Before taking up his current position, he developed his diplomatic acumen and international expertise as the Hungarian ambassador to Israel and later to Austria, he was elected to the Parliament and served as the Hungarian prime minister’s head of Cabinet.

With a background in law, Andor has held myriad roles in public service and diplomacy, testifying to his immense experience. Throughout his career, Andor has actively participated in a variety of civic and political roles. He co-chaired the Joint Venture Association for two consecutive years and held positions as the co-chairman of the Hungarian-Baden-Württemberg Joint Committee, receiving recognition for his contributions, including the Staufer Medaille awarded by the minister-president of Baden-Württemberg.

After earning degrees in law and sociology in 1993, Andor served as the desk officer for German affairs in the Cabinet of the party president. From 1995 to 1998, he was the chief of staff for the Fidesz-Hungarian Civic Party and subsequently served as head of staff of the prime minister Viktor Orbán during the four years following the formation of the government in 1998.

In the 2006 parliamentary elections, Andor won an individual mandate in his constituency in Nógrád county in two consecutive terms. He continued to serve as a member of the Christian Democratic Party caucus and in 2007 became a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Andor has a special relationship for the green economy and is committed to sustainable development, which is reflected through his membership since 2008 in the National Council for Sustainable Development (NFFT. He also took over the role of co-chairman of the NFFT-MTA Water Working Committee during this period and was chairman of the Environmental Protection Committee since May 2009, later on the vice-chairman of the National Assembly’s Sustainable Development Committee.
