Chris is a partner based in our London office and is Head of Dentons' UK Competition practice.

He has more than 15 years' experience of advising clients on the full range of competition law issues, including merger control, cartels and competition investigations, market investigations, abuse of dominance, state aid/subsidy control, commercial agreements and distribution arrangements, competition law compliance and economic regulation. He also advises clients on securing foreign investment approvals, including under the UK National Security and Investment regime.

Chris has recently represented a client in the CMA's largest ever investigation into resale price maintenance (musical instruments), securing his client total immunity from fines. He has also coordinated representation in competition investigations by multiple European competition authorities and other overseas competition authorities. He has recently secured UK, EU and international merger clearances for clients in, among others, the energy, manufacturing, and media and entertainment sectors and also advised third parties in UK and EU competition investigations, including second phase cases. Chris also advises government and private sector clients on subsidy control matters.

He previously practiced in the competition group of a Magic Circle law firm. He has also worked in the competition group of a leading law firm in New Zealand.

Chris has particular sectoral experience in the aviation sector, having advised a number of airport and airline clients on competition and regulatory mandates, as well as in energy and energy transition, and in the media and entertainment sector.
